Like it or not, if you are a real estate agent, you are a marketer. You’re constantly selling, whether it be your real estate listing or your own branding to influence home sellers and buyers to work with you.
There are many ways to market your listing and/or your branding, but Instagram Reel is where it’s happening now. I’m sure you’ve heard of TikTok. Their short video strategy quickly became so popular by enabling users to post short, punchy videos that entertain and engage the viewers. Not to be left behind, Instagram introduced IG Reels in 2020.
This is where you, as a real estate marketer, can take advantage of this new trend. Instagram makes it easy for your content to reach new audiences and even be discovered on a global stage with IG Reels. Have you noticed that your Instagram Explore page now has a whole new look which puts Reels front and center? This creates a new space where public accounts can share, watch and discover Reels.
What makes Reels different is that instead of user’s only seeing Reels from accounts they follow, users see Reels from all Instagram accounts on the Reels tab.
To prove this point, the videos in our own Instagram typically get a few hundred views, but Reels routinely get thousands of views. You just can’t ignore this 10x increase in viewership.
So, what does this mean to you?
First, home sellers are already thrilled that you invested in a real estate video tour to market their home. Second, imagine their delight when they see that you garnered thousands of views on the IG Reel of their property. Finally, they’ll tell everyone all about it and maybe even refer you to a friend.
You’re already paying for the video and photos to market the property. Just think, for a very low incremental cost you can make the IG Reel which can substantially boost the number of views. If any buyer is interested, they can click on a link to the property website to get the full information and contact you. You don’t have a video? Not a problem. You can make a Reel just from photos.
